Flint does Macmillan Coffee Morning with a difference

Bake it or Fake it (as long as you’re in) – was the theme for the Flint Macmillan Coffee Morning that took place last Friday, 27 September.

In true Flint fashion, we turned the well established charity event into a day of fund raising activities, in which all were included.

First was the cake judging competition and whether you know your mille feuille from your crème patissiere, or were simply happy to throw money at the problem, everyone could have a go.

Best Baker went to Lee Thraves, whilst Best Faker was awarded to Rhys Owen Conway.

Other fun activities included:
A Berry Good Guess – guess how many berries were in the pie?, Dunk the Biscuit in the Cuppa – like pin the tail on the donkey, but with a cup of tea and a biscuit and, of course, a good old Raffle.

Prizes included bottles of bubbly, coffee, biscuits, and even a half day holiday.

We are delighted to report that a total of £338 was raised by our staff and this was then matched by our directors Darren and David Taylor.

This additional pledge is to go to the Insurance Charities – the charity for the UK and Irish insurance industry, to support current and former insurance employees and their dependants in time of need.
