A client contacted me having been with their current insurer for the last 3 years through a local broker. After a long discussion with the client about what they do and the level of cover they had been recommended, it became evident they were paying a lot more money than they should be.
The client specialised in Plant Hire mainly serving construction companies in the South of England. On the odd occasion they needed to hire in additional plant, which their former broker said they need to purchase ‘Hire & Reward’ cover for. My advice to the client was our recommended insurer would cover them for any vehicle that is hired, leased or owned in the company name, as long as they had a hire agreement for the additional plant.
The client already had this in place which meant they were covered without the requirement to purchase the additional expensive cover for the Hire & reward element.
We worked with Aviva who offered an enhanced policy compared to their previous one, as well as saving the client almost 40% on their premium!
