Forward Thinking - 2016 Review

2015 was a great year for Flint Insurance, we saw growth in all areas of business, with our teams developing their expertise and more of our amazing people achieve professional qualifications.

Our lofty ideals of striving to be the broker of choice for our customers and insurer partners and employer of choice for our staff continue unabated; we're aiming higher for 2016!

Risk management continues to play a crucial role; it is not a fad, but interwoven into our everyday existence – essential for all businesses and organisations. In 2015 we actively developed all of our advisor's knowledge around risk management strategies with a view to better helping our clients understand risk and the role of insurance. Flint has continued to invest in risk management in the form of an additional claims executive, called Richard Naylor; a specialist in motor fleet claims. Richard joins Jim Tuhey our claims and risk expert for commercial businesses. Both individuals possess a wealth of expertise in how best to deal with claims and help clients on a daily basis. However, their real value lies in the knowledge of where and how loss usually occurs and practical advice on how best to avoid it in the first place. The importance of claims and how they affect our insurance choices will be a reoccurring theme for 2016.

Last year the size and complexity of the risks that we arranged insurance programmes for increased beyond all recognition and we saw particular success where we were able to provide a range of products across our commercial, fleet and personal insurance departments.

It's a credit to our staff that in 2015 we saw relationships with our insurer partners reach new heights; their particular expertise, combined with their ability to win new business affords us the opportunity to work with some of the market's best known insurance brands and select our partners very carefully.

2016

Ambitious plans for 2016 include moving to a new, bigger office; doubling our floor space providing sufficient room to further develop our commercial insurance departments. We will be seeking out new talent to join our existing teams; adding experienced people where we can be confident that their acquisition will enhance Flint's offering to our clients. A first class service, matched with competitively priced products and a focus on customer outcomes makes us the leading independent insurance broker in Kent and the South East.

During 2016 we are on a crusade to educate our customers and even our prospects on the importance of the insurer who sits behind their policy; this is just one of the many benefits of using an insurance broker. We believe that many of our competitors allow insurance to be reduced to its lowest common denominator by focusing on price. However anyone who has experienced a major loss knows that many other factors come into play, such as speed of response, levels of cover, insurer ethos and support services. Considering a company's potential exposure, saving a few hundred pounds when protecting millions worth of assets quickly defies common business sense. Having the comfort of mind to know that your insurance arrangements properly protect your business is priceless.
